I called for a reservation two days before arrival. We needed two sites somewhat near each other. The only had dry sites available for the two nights we needed. They said they were big enough for a 40 ft RV so accepted those. Upon arrival we discovered that on the brochure we were given these were "tent sites". I have a 24 ft van style RV and I could not fit on the site with my awning out and space to open my back doors. My daughter has a 13 ft tear drop trailer and a Subaru Outback. She could not fit both if these on her site, either end to end or side by side without unhooking the trailer and turning it slightly. There were no picnic tables on our sites but there were fire rings. I could only locate two toilets and one lavatory in the whole camp ground. Alhough many sites have full hookups, there is no dump station - they directed me to Homer to dump. Showers are $6 and the small laundry adjacent to the office is $4 per wash load. That said , I still give one star because after being quite upset, a polite woman at the desk offered me three adjacent dry sites (still small tent sites according to their brochure/map) for the price of two so my daughter and I could actually fit without blocking the road or hanging over the ditch. Others talk about the view, which is great but not from the sites we had near the noisy road with trees blocking the view but not the noise. Also, they refused to honor the Good Sam discount on dry sites. So my advice to anyone booking a site here is to ask a lot of questions about the size and location of the site before you book. Some sites are big enough for a 44 ft big rig and a toad, others not really big enough for a car and a small teardrop trailer. If you want a view of the Homer Spit; distant snow covered mountains; above the arm of Kachemak Bay, and the distant Cook Inlet then you need to stay at Baycrest RV Park. I doubt you can beat the view here when comparing other RV Parks. Baycrest RV Park isn't huge, so walking around here will be quick. The employees in the office are very nice. This is great location if you want to be away from all the tourist spots because it is very quiet here. Of course the disadvantage is that you can't walk to anything besides a gas station. If you have a travel trailer then unhitch and sight see, but if you have an RV then you might want to think about getting all your sight seeing out of the way prior to setup. Beautiful views of mountains all around. Very good location and full hookups, BUT literally just a big gravel parking lot. You are right on top of your neighbor, heaven forbid they are loud and obnoxious at all hours. Still, overall, good outweighs the bad. Great views, big lots, away from the crowded space of Spit , very good place to stay, need a little sprucing up, but A OK Beautiful view of the Bay. Clean showers and toilets
